International Technology Days" with HAWE Hydraulik
Production and operation of hydraulic solutions in theory and practice
A fire-fighting truck from the Obergünzburg fire brigade gave visitors a chance to see the compact build of the hydraulic controls from HAWE Hydraulik.
HAWE Hydraulik's "International Technology Days" were met with great interest by customers as was the visit to the plant in Freising.
In March HAWE Hydraulik SE from Munich held its first "International Technology Days" for manufacturers of mobile and stationary machines and plants. The strong response to the invitation meant that customers from 13 countries and well over 500 participants attended the two day event at the company plants in Kaufbeuren and Freising.
The days' topics covered current trends in drive technology for mobile work machines, the key issue of "green machining tools" for stationary hydraulic systems as well as trends in the distribution logistics, all of which were presented by external experts from universities. Rounding out the guest speakers' information offers was a presentation on “risk assessment for machining tools" from the perspective of the Association of German Machine Tool Builders (VDW - Verein Deutscher Werkzeugmaschinenfabriken).
HAWE experts in turn showed how these trends are handled in practice. The hydraulic specialists offered exemplary solutions to raise energy efficiency of mobile working machines and machine tools as well as solutions to comply with safety requirements. At the Kaufbeuren plant the visitors had the chance to see how compact an energy-efficient hydraulic control from HAWE is built, very convincingly demonstrated in vehicles and trucks exhibited on site. The tour through the production facilities of the Freising plant showcased machine tools in action and operating with efficiently working HAWE compact power packs and valves. The exhibition area focused on pumps, valves and electronic components that the company will bring to market in 2015.
The guided tours through the plants granted visitors insight into the high degree of automation in HAWE Hydraulik's production and assembly. Automation enables the company to efficiently manufacture its products over a wide range of variants and lot sizes, ranging from 1 to 1,000, with constant high quality. A presentation on the various different delivery schedules that customers can utilize to their benefit rounded out the agenda of the International Technology Days.
As both plants maintained their production operations during the event, a number of guests to Kaufbeuren noted to the low noise level in the production facilities despite the operative machine tools as well as the cleanliness of the air in the factory halls. Acoustic inserts in the shed roofs dampen the noise emissions and air extractions at the machines capture the emissions from the coolant lubricants.
