Ensuring the future of Australia’s Dynamic Pipeline Industry 

In 1968 the industry association that is now APIA first began as a construction contractors' association, later expanding to include owners and operators of gas transmission pipelines and becoming unique in energy representation internationally with its broad cross-section of members.  During the 40 years to 2008, services to members increased and a full-time secretariat was established in the nation's capital, Canberra.  In the decades to come, APIA plans to continue to serve its members, representing the interests of Australia's high-pressure transmission pipeline sector.
