Welcome to EUROGIF - the European oil and gas innovation forum.

EUROGIF represents the European oil and gas service and supply industry. EUROGIF brings an industry perspective to the EU in terms of their formulation of both energy policy and Framework Programmes for sponsored research. EUROGIF also provides an arena for leveraging national research efforts through pan- European thematic networks, specific collaborative research projects and dissemination of information, research findings and development of best practice.

The oil and gas industry is central to Europe's prosperity. It provides most of our energy, it is one of the largest employers of high-technology staff, generates large tax revenues and is a major exporter.

Over the last 20 years European equipment and service suppliers in the oil and gas industry have built up a 30% world market share from almost nothing. The challenges of the North Sea and the support by EU and national initiatives have enabled many groundbreaking projects, which in turn has made European industry competitive and world class.

The European oil and gas industry is, however, at a turning point. Existing fields will have to improve their yield, new fields will be smaller, in deeper waters, often in harsher climates and will require new infrastructure. All fields will have to meet more stringent environmental and ecological requirements, and costs must come down. We know how to do this!

Only technological innovation, collaboration and use of best practice will ensure that this is achieved and that Europe will continue to benefit from security of energy supply and a world class energy industry well into the 21st century.

EUROGIF aims to enable and support such activities.
