The
Swarmanoid project started on October 1st, 2006. Swarmanoid main scientific objective is the design, implementation and control of a novel distributed robotic system. The project, that will last 42 months, is funded with 2.5 millions of EUR by the European Commission via the Future and Emerging Technologies (FET-OPEN) program.
Marco Dorigo coordinates the five teams taking part in the project:
IRIDIA-CoDE (Brussels, Belgium),
EPFL-LIS and
EPFL-LSRO (Lausanne, CH),
IDSIA (Lugano, CH) and
CNR-ISTC (Rome, Italy) are partners.
