A new book by Esteban Zimányi in collaboration with Elzbieta Malinowski. This book shows a conceptual approach for the design of data warehouses. It covers traditional data warehouses, but also spatial and temporal extensions of them. The book addresses also methodological issues and thus provides designers with the different steps to be followed in order to achieve successful data warehouse development.

A 5-minute video titled "Morphogenesis: Shaping Swarms of Intelligent Robots" co-authored by Anders Christensen, Rehan O'Grady and Marco Dorigo has won the Best Video Award at the AI Video Competition organized by the 22nd Conference of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI-07). The video is available at AAAI-07 AI Video Competition.
Marco Dorigo is the editor-in-chief of the new journal Swarm Intelligence, published by Springer. The first two issues of this quarterly journal will appear in June and December 2007. Swarm Intelligence is dedicated to reporting on advances in the understanding and utilization of swarm intelligent systems.
The Swarmanoid project started on October 1st, 2006. Swarmanoid main scientific objective is the design, implementation and control of a novel distributed robotic system. The project, that will last 42 months, is funded with 2.5 millions of EUR by the European Commission via the Future and Emerging Technologies (FET-OPEN) program. Marco Dorigo coordinates the five teams taking part in the project: IRIDIA-CoDE (Brussels, Belgium), EPFL-LIS and EPFL-LSRO (Lausanne, CH), IDSIA (Lugano, CH) and CNR-ISTC (Rome, Italy) are partners.
