Use the red E-STOP pushbutton to shut down your plant in a hazardous situation. Use the black pushbutton for an operational stop to shut down an area of your plant. This way you have the right pushbutton for each shutdown type.
You can assemble both versions individually and in a modular format as part of a building-block principle. You can choose between:
- Panel mount version
- Surface mount version
All E-STOP pushbuttons and pushbuttons for an operational stop are available in both versions.
On the panel mount version, a special safety contact block prevents the contact elements from working loose without detection. If there is a fault in the connection between the make contact and the actuator, PITestop will detect that the contact blocks have worked loose and will go to a safe condition until the fault is rectified.

Muting Lamps
Muting is the safe, automatic and temporary suspension of an electrosensitive protective device (in accordance with the B standard IEC 61496-1). Muting lamps signal that an optoelectronic protection device is suspended.
Use PITsign muting lamps from Pilz to signal the muting status. This way you will receive clear signals when you temporarily suspend optoelectronic protective devices such as light grids or light curtains, for example. This in turn will increase safety for the plant or machine operator. In conjunction with the approved evaluation devices, Pilz offers a safe, complete solution for monitoring muting.

Enable switches are used when work is being carried out in a plant or machine's danger zone. For example, machine functions can be controlled manually with the safety gate open.
PITjog is a manually operated control device. In contrast to a conventional enable switch, you need both hands to operate it. Access to the danger zone using one hand is prevented. Used in conjunction with the two-hand module of the modular safety relay PNOZmulti, you can work safely within the danger zone of your plant or machine.

Operating mode selector switch PITmode
The operating mode selector switch PITmode provides two functions in one compact unit: Selection of operating mode and authorisation control for machine access.
The PITmode can be used on plant and machinery in which a range of control sequences and operating modes are used.
By combining the operating mode selector switch PITmode with Pilz control solutions such as the configurable control system PNOZmulti, the result is an economical solution for selecting the operating mode and controlling access authorisations.
