Camera-based protection and measuring system
The camera-based protection and measuring system PSENvip visually monitors the whole bending process. When installed on the upper die of the press brake, the system detects even the smallest foreign body in the protected field between the transmitter and receiver.
Maximum safety for the operator
- Foreign bodies in the optical field are detected immediately and the press operation is stopped.
- The protected field is adaptable for box bending and back gauge mode.
- Maximum safety up to Category 4 in accordance with EN 954-1, Performance Level e in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1 and SIL3 in accordance with IEC 62061, as well as EN 12622.
Protection and measuring system PSENvip with dynamic muting function
With the control systems from the automation system PSS 4000 and the new version of the camera-based protection and measuring system PSENvip, Pilz now offers a safety solution specifically for press brakes.
The new version of the camera-based protection and measuring system PSENvip is characterised by a dynamic muting function, which has a direct impact on the productivity of a press.
In normal muting mode, the upper tool can only cover the last few millimetres to the plate at the permitted, safe speed of 10 mm/s. With dynamic muting, it can travel at high speed almost right up to the workpiece. So the distance that the upper tool travels at reduced speed is reduced to a minimum.
The new version of the PSENvip is used in conjunction with the control system PSSuniversal PLC from the automation system PSS 4000.
PSSuniversal PLC monitors all the safety-related functions on a press. Standard control functions can also be performed.
Here the control system has two key tasks: to monitor dynamic muting and to monitor the speed profile during the braking process.
Both these functions are available as software blocks. As a result, it is easy to incorporate encoder evaluation, pinch point testing and ramp monitoring into the user program.
