Nitruration is a surface process with a 0,3 to 0,7 mm thickness according to the steel used and treatment hardness.
The surface hardness reaches between 850 up to 1100 HV (Vickers)
It is the solution for low budget.
Used for plastics filled with up to 30 % fiber glass such as PA66, LCP, PA6
These screws are made of special hardened steel from 56 to 60 HRC. These are dedicated to screws up to 80 mm diameter. Above this dimension we recommend bimetallic nitrided screws.
Bimetallic nitrided screws
These screws are adapted to plastics filled with up to 30% glass fibers.
They are made of alloy steel. In the thread crest, we file an alloy by plasma process transfers (PTA). After deposition, these screws are nitrided.
Depending on your conversion process, we can provide the following alloys:
- Stellite grade 6
- Stellite grade 12
- Colmonoy 56
- Iron Base 60 Hrc
- Tungsten carbide
Tungsten carbide coated screws
For highly filled plastics beyond 30% fiberglass.
These screws provide very high-end solutions to solve the lasting problems for tooling subject to combined wear problems (abrasion, corrosion, heat, pressure, adhesion, oxidation etc. ...)
In addition to these four lines, to meet most of your needs, we also offer the following coatings:
- Chrome-electrolytic: Hard Chrome 1400 Hv 0.05 mm thickness for corrosive materials such as PVC.
- Nitride-Chromium: Chromium vacuum deposit 1800 Hv 0.003 mm thickness. Deposition of high performance, excellent resistance against corrosion. Not sensitive to shocks such as chromium electroplating. Nonstick property recognized and tested by many customers.
- CLD-coating: HV 2200 multilayer coating thickness 0.002 mm. Very good resistance to abrasion and corrosion with a very low coefficient of friction (0.1).
- HVOF-coating: Coating thickness 0.2 mm carbide. Plastics loaded with more than 30% fiberglass

These barrels are made of the same nitrided steel screws suitable for unfilled plastics.
Barrels with high performance, depending on your production process, we offer four solutions with different alloys:
1 - Plastic filled with up to 15% glass fiber
2 - Plastics filled with up from 15% to 30% glass fiber
3 - Cylinders bimetallic tungsten carbide, plastic filled with more than 30% glass fiber
4 - To specifically corrosive plastics (PTFE ...)
