Water softening

For many industrial processes soft water is required. But water quality may differ - water hardness is different from region to region, from country to country - making additional treatment necessary.
Water softening has been a well established principle for the past 100 years now, and is as simple as effective: By ion exchange, the hardening constituents, such as calcium and magnesium, are removed from the water, literally softening the water.
