The WCC enables a data connection between remote energy systems and a central operations center. The WCC is a 586-grade platform with dual LAN ports. It communicates with local controllers via two RS-232 and two isolated RS-232 / 422 / 485 ports and can support a wide array of communication protocols. It connects with local meters and instruments via 16-channel isolated digital I/O and timer/counter. The WCC is infinitely expandable to capture the balance of plant instrumentation through the use of the CENTRYPIA module.

The WCC contains an embedded VPN client; no expense or complexity of VPN hardware. The WCC communicates with the operations center via a standard XML communication protocol that is open and conforms with IEEE 1547.3.
