Alcatel-Lucent 1532 Copper Line Access Switch (CLAS) Hybrid Packet/TDM Platform
Alcatel-Lucent 1532 Copper Line Access Switch (CLAS) Hybrid Packet/TDM Platform
The Alcatel-Lucent 1532 Copper Line Access Switch (CLAS) enables carriers to deploy carrier class Ethernet and TDM to business sites and 2G/3G base station sites that are currently only served by copper connectivity. It is a hybrid Packet/TDM platform offering flexible, resilient transport of both Ethernet and TDM traffic by delivering native Ethernet traffic simultaneously with native TDM traffic over the same bonded copper connection. The 1532 CLAS supports the widely deployed E1/T1 and Ethernet-in-the-First-Mile (EFM), enabling a smooth migration from a traditional TDM to a new-generation network. The platform offers symmetrical bandwidths and services at rates up to 480 Mb/s over a bonded link of 32 copper pairs. High-end Ethernet and TDM services can be delivered over voice-grade copper at full carrier serving area (CSA) distances and beyond.

Alcatel-Lucent 1532 Copper Line Access Switch (CLAS) Hybrid Packet/TDM Platform
* High-performance TDM implementation over copper ensures native TDM characteristics such as jitter, latency and synchronization * TDM offload and TDM over packet facilitates migration to all over packet networks * 2BASE-TL technology utilizes maximum capacity per individual copper pair; copper pairs can come and go without service interruption * Temperature-hardened hardware complies with street cabinet environment
