ABLE Design are one of the leading specialists for electronic flatpanel display systems in the industrial market

 Special emphasis is given to the quality of the products. ABLE Design therefore are continuously monitoring their qualification to DIN EN ISO 9001. Management efforts are taken , to even further improve quality and lifetime of products.

Although ABLE Design offer a range of standard products, the majority of their business is for OEM display modules or customised systems, using various flatpanel technologies. 
ABLE Design try to maintain a lean, but powerful organisation. To preserve and expand the know-how, design, prototyping and small series production is done in-house, but volume production is outsource to quality partners for more cost-effective manufacturing.
ABLE Design GmbH was founded in 1994 by three private shareholders, with the intention, to serve the evolving market for electronic flatpanel displays.
The company achieved a flying start, by taking over existing business of the previously existing company bit design, which had co-operated with Finlux (later: Planar Systems Ltd.) as a local representative for elctroluminescent (EL) flatpanel displays. ABLE Design further expanded the know-how of bit design and added new technologies to complement the range of products. Especially the colour plasma displays were adopted very early in their market existence and ABLE Design was in 1995 the first company to offer a fully digitally controlled plasma display. The sizes and resolutions have increased, since.

Based on the capability, to digitally control electronic displays, ABLE Design developed own controller boards, graphic cards with special features and was the first company in Europe, to offer a long distance LVDS-interface for digital displays. This interface was used in a variety of applications, ranging from rugged industrial environment to aviation and also in very sensitive medical applications , where it helped, to meet the stringent EMC requirements. Later this technology evolved to todays LDI- or DVI-standards. Like with the display panels, ABLE Design did not limit themselves by contractual links with just one of few suppliers, but are able to offer any technology. This allows, to optimise to the requirements of the application and thus results in a better product for the customer.
ABLE Design first try to understand the application and its environment, to then help the customer selecting display technology, glass filters, interfaces, controllers and housing. Devices, which are not available as standard products, are developed.

All these capabilities complement flatpanel displays and therefore allow ABLE Design to develop standard- or OEM custom products with outstanding features and quality.
