Lowering the temperature
Today everybody wants dark colours but they absorb most of the sun's energy. By using BeckryTherm you can specify such shades and actually reduce the heat absorbed at the same time. Furthermore the reduction in exterior surface temperature will help reduce the impact of the building on the urban heat island effect improving quality of life.
reducing energy consumption
BeckryTherm reduces air-conditioning consumption, by reducing the energy absorbed by the construction (cladding and roofing...). It also reduces carbon footprint, CO2 emissions and qualifies for points in building environmental rating schemes such as LEED*.
* LEED is the US Green building councils programme (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).
Providing material durability
By maintaining a lower surface temperature of buildings, BeckryTherm reduces thermal tension in the metal, thereby increasing durability and product lifetimes of the structure.

Laboratory tests prove the efficiency of BeckryTherm: the surface temperature of a standard paint reaches 80°C by adjusting the distance between a shortwave NIR lamp and the panel. The reduction in surface temperature of the BeckryTherm coated panel is then established by measuring at exactly the same distance. Here are the results:

Solar Reflectance is expressed as the fraction of the incident solar energy which is reflected by the surface in the three areas of the solar spectrum (Ultra violet, visible and infra red). For example: 100% TSR means the product reflects 100% of the incident solar energy in each area of the solar spectrum. Measurement conditions: this data is an indication calculated with shades close to RAL shades. The TSR data given is that of a complete BeckryTherm system: 15 microns chrome free white base coat specifically developed for this application + 20 microns very high durability BeckryTherm top coat 2001 on galvanised steel.

The Contractor is given a building project. The contractor works with the Project Manager, Architect and Quantity Surveyor to detail the specification and plans. The Quantity Surveyor puts the project out to tender and the Construction company and various Sub Contractors are selected. Following discussions the Project Manager or Architect sign off the drawings and choose colours for the building and the form of panels. Once the decision has been made the Project Manager, or Architect coordinates the work.

The subcontractor will order profiles or panels from the Manufacturer. The profile or insulating panel Manufacturer who fabricates the steel or aluminium profiles places an order with the Galvanisers and Coil Coaters whose job it is to to apply paint to the steel or aluminium coil. Becker Industrial Coatings supply either the profile manufacturer or the coil coater with the BeckryTherm paint chosen by the Architect.

The Contractor, the Architect, the Quantity Surveyor, the profile or insulating panel manufacturer and the coil coater may all recommend using BeckryTherm coating!
